Nehru Zoological Park authorities have proposed a plan to install electric fencing on the boundary walls of the zoo to keep a check on miscreants and illegal activities.
The proposal was discussed during an inspection conducted by principal chief conservator of forests (wildlife) and chief wildlife warden Lokesh Jayaswal on Saturday at the zoo.
On July 20, 7 trees were felled illegaly in
the Thamin Deer enclosure, after which authorities decided to strengthen the vigilance and security of the zoo.
In addition to electric fencing, CCTV cameras will also be installed at vital points.
Telangana state zoo parks director Vinay Kumar, Nehru Zoological Park curator Prashant Bajirao Patil were present during the inspection.
