Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy on Friday told the Assembly that the new building of Osmania General Hospital will be constructed in Goshamahal. The CM said new building will come up after clearing the 30-acre plot housing the old police quarters. The construction will commence within the next 20 days. Responding to a question from Chandrayangutta MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi, the CM said the present OGH building will be preserved.
The decision
was welcomed by the Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA). "Despite the former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao visiting Osmania Hospital and promising to build twin towers, not even the foundation stone was laid in ten years. Within just six months, the current government made a bold decision," the TGGDA said in a statement, thanking to Revanth Reddy and health minister Damodar C. Rajanarsimha.
