The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) which has taken up the task of setting up 100 new parks in different parts of the city hopes to reach the target in a month’s time.
In the 2017-18 financial year, the civic body has taken up the works on 100 parks with a budget of Rs 5.40 crores in colonies and basthis across the city. As on Sunday, 72 parks have been completed and made available for the citizens,
according to a press release.
Following instructions of GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy to complete the works on the rest 28 parks by April end, the urban bio-diversity wing has speeded up the works.
Most of these new parks have come up in the colonies and the task of managing them is being taken up by the colony welfare associations, the press release added.
