The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has decided to build a new RuB parallel to the existing one.
Everyday thousands of motorists, especially those working in different software and corporate companies use this route to reach Hi-Tec City from Kukatpally.
With narrow passage at the RuB, vehicles move at snail’s pace and get stuck in traffic jams near the structure. At times, the peak hour rush leaves many vehicles caught in jam for a long time.
Giving into the demands, the civic body has now floated tenders to construct a RuB
near the existing passage. The project is estimated to cost Rs 59 crore.
While, the Railways will be executing the box portion of the bridge, the GHMC will be taking up the construction of approach roads and connecting the drainage line to Mulkatawa cheruvu.
Once the project is completed, the four-lane passage will facilitate a hassle-free passage at Hi-Tec city station. Railways has already commenced its share of work and GHMC will execute the drainage connection works shortly, said a senior official from GHMC.
