New technology for studying main sewers

The HMWS&SB has decided to take up an assessment study of existing sewer trunk mains by using trenchless technology.

Water board officials on Wednesday discussed various issues to improve overall organisational efficiency at `Centre for Good Governance', Gachhibowli. HMWS&SB MD M Dana Kishore said, "We will conduct conditional assessment study on sewer mains that includes K&S (Kukatpally &



Secunderabad) sewer between Kukatpally and Secunderabad nala. The study will be completed by October 30. Later, tenders will be floated by November-end and work might commen ce from December first week."

The board will appoint a consultant to conduct study on reduction of non-revenue water which would focus on leakages, rectification and giving suggestions for construction of new reservoirs, the official added.
