The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has registered a case after busting conspiracy for terror attacks involving an Islamic State terror module in Hyderabad. The NIA arrested five out of 11 persons whom the central agency picked up during the raids conducted yesterday. The arrested are expected to be produced before the magistrate today and their police custody likely to be sought.
The NIA, in a release, informed that the raids conducted at ten locations in Hyderabad based on credible information that some youths have entered into criminal conspiracy to wage war against the Government by collecting weapons and explosive materials to commit terror attacks on
public places.
Six persons are being questioned for their role in the conspiracy for terror attacks. During preliminary examination, the NIA has found that the terrorist gang was preparing Improvised Explosive Devises for commission of terrorist acts and they have being guided by an online handler suspected to be based in Iraq or Syria.
The material seized by the central agencies include 2 pistols, Airgun and pellets, 15 lakh rupees cash, chemicals including Urea, 3 lap-tops, 23 mobile phones, pen drives, dongles, Tablet, CPU, equipment like heater timer, pressure meter, clocks, and paint. The chemicals seized are being analysed.
