A night safari park will come up at Kothwalgunda in Gandipet mandal on the outskirts of the city, upon 123 acre of land. Municipal administration and urban development (MA&UD) minister K T Rama Rao on Monday held a meeting with representatives of Bernard Harrison and Friends Ltd, developers of a night safari park on 98 acre of land in Singapore.
KTR who wants founder Harrison to be associated with the night safari park planned at Kothwalguda, has expressed the desire to have a night safari park that is among the most unique parks in the entire country.
The proposed site is
strategically located on one side of Outer Ring Road, while on the other side is Himayathsagar. As Hyderabad is developing rapidly, and denizens will require space for recreation and entertainment, the night safari park has been planned.
Officials said designs were also being prepared for Gandipet lake development. The representatives of Bernard Harrison visited the site and expressed satisfaction over its location. The minister asked that the concept and designs be ready by September. He said the project should be attractive, financially viable and affordable.
