The department of clinical pharmacology and therapeutics started its out-patient services at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (Nims) in the old OP block on Tuesday. The unit will provide services like drug information, therapeutic guidance in dose adjustment, therapeutic drug monitoring, adverse reactions, drug
interactions, drug usage in geriatrics and paediatrics and surveillance of antibiotic usage.
The step was taken to advance patient care. Nims Director N. Bheerappa inaugurated the unit, medical superintendent Dr Satyanarayana and medical staff were present.
