Jangaon: A nine-feet tall statue of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was unveiled at Palle Prakruthi Vanam at Chilpur village in the district on Wednesday to mark the State Formation Day.
Local Sarpanch Uddamarri Rajkumar said that they installed the statue by spending nearly Rs 5 lakh with the support of the TRS leaders as a mark of respect to K Chandrashekhar Rao who realised the decades-old dream of the Telangana people through his long battle by roping in all sections of
society.
Locals said that it is the tallest statue of Chandrashekhar Rao to be installed in Telangana since the formation of the State. Chilpur is one of the famous pilgrim centres in the erstwhile Warangal district and is located 120 km away from Hyderabad, 30 Km from Warangal, and 10 Km from Ghanpur.
The Bugulu Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple atop the local hillock attracts thousands of devotees during the jatara every year during the month of Phalguna.
