In Telangana, Nine persons including two from Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) were arrested for their alleged involvement in leaking a question paper relating to the Assistant Engineer (Civil) recruitment exam of the commission. The Hyderabad police seized four hard drives, three laptops and eight mobile phones from their possession.
The arrested included an Assistant Section Officer at TSPSC, a network administrator at TSPSC, a school teacher, a technical assistant, and five others. DCP Southwest, Kiren Kareh informed that the ASO from the TSPSC contacted a
Network Administrator who had full knowledge of the computer systems and networks of the TSPSC office in Hyderabad. They managed to get the paper from the confidential section of the TSPSC by hacking into a computer and taking it to a pen-drive from the computer.
The police booked cases under various sections of IPC and IT acts besides Prevention of Examinations Malpractices Act against the suspects. They seized the computer systems and sent them to the Forensic Science Laboratory for further analysis and all the suspects were sent to remand.
