Nizamabad to be Open Defecation Free by March end

District Administration making efforts to announce Nizamabad district as ‘Open Defecation Free’ (ODF) district by March end, and District Collector Yogita Rana has ordered MPDO’s to complete lavatory works March 15.

Rana on Monday conducted a review meeting on IHHL Lavatories, Agriculture, SSC Exams, Minority and BC Welfare, Haritha Haram and Kalyana Lakshmi Schemes. She gave suggestions to the officials on various issues.

Rana said that district administration was intending to announce Nizamabad



district as ODF district, MPDO’s should complete the incomplete lavatories works by March 15, if they do not complete the works on time, action would be taken by MPDO’s. She said that in Nizamabad, Agriculture Extension Officers had been appointed for every 2,000 acres, they should give suggestions to the farmers on various crops and construction of farm ponds. Tahsildars should identify barren lands, which cannot be used for agricultural purpose, and on these lands AEO’s should build farms ponds.
