Pilgrims from Telangana and others,will get more seats in the Nizam's Rubaat, an inn that provides free boarding to Haj pilgrims.
According to Telangana State Haj Committee special officer, Professor S A Shukoor, as compared to last year, pilgrims of Haj season 2017 will have more space for accommodation.
“During Haj season 2016, the Nizam's Rubaat had two buildings. Now, there are three. This means that more pilgrims can be accommodated,“ he said. The increase in the buildings now brings the total seats to 1,283.
The accommodation is in the Baqutama neighbourhood in Mecca. As much as 10 percent of these seats will be reserved for the descendants of the Nizam.Professor Shukoor pointed out that apart from Hyderabad and
other parts of the state, pilgrims for four districts of Karnataka and eight districts of Maharashtra have sent in their applications. A total of 2,596 applications have been received from all these places.
As many as 1,627 applications have been received from the Hyderabad district. He also said that 2,088 applications have been received from the eight districts of Maharashtra and 572 from the four districts of Karnataka.
“The draw of lots will be from applications under the Azizia Category .The qurrah (draw of lots) will be done from this category . The computerised qurrah will soon be done by the deputy chief minister, Mohammed Mahmood Ali, and the nazir of the Nizam's Rubaat, Hussain al Shareef,“ Prof Shukoor said.
