TRS working president K. T. Rama Rao has rejected the charge by some TRS leaders that the party sold ticket for money. He said he did not want to comment on people who had been his colleagues till the other day, and were training guns on the party for being denied ticket.
In an informal interaction with media here, KTR said it was unfair on the part of Mr. Jithender Reddy and Mr. Vivekanand to level allegations against the party just because they were denied ticket. “I don’t want to comment on them who were my colleagues till recently,” he said, adding that those who stayed with the party would get the respect they deserved. He was referring to Mr Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and Mr Sitaram Naik, who were denied ticket but stayed with the party.
KTR refused to admit defeat of TRS-‘supported’ candidates in the MLC election, saying the party stayed away from the election and did not issue “B” form to any one. ‘Some sections might not have voted for us in the recent Assembly election but all major sections, including women and farmers, continued to support
TRS.’
He reiterated that the party would win all the 16 seats, including Khammam and Secunderabad, about which doubts were being expressed. Why should people vote for Mr. Kishan Reddy, he asked and said neither Mr. Modi would come back at the Centre nor would Mr. Reddy be inducted into the Union Cabinet as being claimed by the BJP. Since the TDP was not contesting the election, all TDP supporters would vote for TRS now, he said.
Claiming that the Federal Front was sure to form government at the Centre, he said the Prime Minister candidate would be decided after the election results. He was sure that the delimitation of constituencies would be a reality once the Federal Front formed government.
KTR took a dig at BJP president K. Laxman, saying he was in political hibernation after the party’s defeat in the Assembly election, and he would get an opportunity to leave politics once again after the Lok Sabha results. He was referring to Mr. Laxman’s reported statement that he would take political sanyas if the TRS won all the seats.
