Hyderabad: Hyderabad began hosting one of the biggest gaming events it has ever done here on Saturday. The two-day Gamer Connect is set to witness 5,000 gamers and gaming enthusiasts. Starting from young boys and girls – to college goers and young adults, the event was a platform for the gaming community to bond, interact and explore new avenues in gaming.
Not only was did it provide a great platform for gaming companies to showcase their products but also gaming connoisseurs to experience new age and never-seen-before games and technology.
The fifth version of Gamer Connect in Hyderabad was described by the organisers as one of the biggest event that they have hosted so far. With over 100 demo stations, the event showcased latest games from Call of Duty WW II, Destiny 2, Middle Earth: Shadow of War, NFS Payback and Assassin’s Creed Origins. Also on display was LG’s premium range of gaming monitors including the popular 21:9 curved UltraWide with 4K-UHD
Display.
Not only popular companies but also young startups from all parts of the country participated in the event. One-year-old startup Xrig from Kolkata displayed its liquid cooled Personal Computer. The computer which designed beautifully aesthetically is touted to be more efficient than regular desktops. “We have sold 19 liquid cooled PCs so far and two have been in Hyderabad. The PCs range between Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 8 lakh,” said Aditya Prasad, founder, Xrig.
Apart from this, the event had four stalls of virtual reality games on display and many enthusiasts could be seen trying them out and get transported into another world. Technology companies like Dell, LG and NVIDIA also showcased their new and emerging products. LG showcased gaming monitor line-up and technologies like G-Sync, 240Hz refresh rate and 4K displays with HDR 10. Meanwhile, Dell displayed its latest laptop packed with GeForce GTX 10-series and NVIDIA showed its GeForce GTX graphic cards featuring the latest Pascal architecture.
