Members of anti-terror commando unit Octopus, and six platoons of armed forces will be part of the security ring for the March 2 ODI cricket match between India and Australia at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal. In all, 2,300 security personnel will be deployed.
Hyderabad Metro Rail authorities have decided to run the last metro train till 1 am on the day of the match.
Spectators would not be allowed to carry laptops, banners, water bottles, cameras, cigarettes, electronic items, inflammable items, sharp metal and plastic items and eatables in the stadium. In and around the stadium, 200 CCTV cameras would be installed, including at vehicle check points and parking area. A
joint command and control room would also be established to monitor the CCTV footage. Apart from 250 members of security and 509 traffic cops, there will be 985 law and order policemen manning the stadium.
Check posts have been set up at all the entry points of the stadium to carry out antisabotage check and frisking of persons. A road clearance party would ensure a hasslefree ride for the players, VVIPs and VIPs.
Spectators would not be allowed to park vehicles on either side of the main road from Genpact to Uppal Ring Road, and Uppal Ring Road to Vishal Mart, Ramanthapur. Vehicles should be parked as specified in TSIIC parking areas only.
