The Haritha Haram steering committee that met under the chairmanship of chief secretary S.K. Joshi on Wednesday has asked the officials to speed up the nursery works in all the Panchayats across the state. The nurseries for the Haritha Haram were established in about 2,206 panchayats as of now and the works are going on pace in about 9,868 gram panchayats. 

Addressing the meeting, the chief secretary has said that all the officials concerned  have to work with commitment to meet the



target of planting 100 crore seedling as part of the fifth phase of Haritha Haram project that was directed by the Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao. 

He said, “All the officials should work with a commitment. The Haritha Haram project is for the benefit of present and future generations. The responsibility of planting trees is on everyone in the society. This year’s target is huge and should plan accordingly to meet the target.”
