Director General of Police (DGP) M Mahendar Reddy on Wednesday inaugurated one-day training session at DGP office conference hall. A special poster on 'Operation Muskaan-V' was unveiled by the DGP and other stakeholders to create awareness. A booklet containing information on 'Operation Muskaan/Smile,' Child rights, SOPs in rescue operations, Do's and Don'ts was also released and distributed to all the teams to help them during conducting of operations. This year 'Operation Muskaan-V' is proposed to be conducted across the State for a period of one month from July 1 to July 31.
Teams consisting of a sub-inspector, four police constables from each sub-division in the State, around 250 police personnel in coordination with W & CWD, Labour, Health, Child Welfare Committees (CWC), District Child
Protection Unit, NGOs and Shelter Homes will actively participate in the rescue operations.
Through 'Operation Muskaan' the missing children, children involved in child labour, bonded labour, micro industries, begging and trafficked children will be traced, and after rescuing them and they will be restored to their parents and family members.
Every year, 'Operation Smile' is being conducted during January for a period of one month and 'Operation Muskan' held during July for a period of one month. by the police and all stakeholder departments. SJPUs (Special Juvenile Police Units) Teams consisting of an Additional SP from each district along with the teams having more than 150 members participated in the session.
