The Telangana State
government is planning to utilise the centenary celebrations of Osmania
University (OU) as an opportunity and
showcase Telangana culture.
“We are making all arrangements to organise Centenary celebrations of Osmania University (OU) in a grand way to highlight the rich history and achievements of the university. Telangana culture will be showcased and highlighted during the centenary celebrations of university. A Centre for Telangana Studies will also be set up during the celebrations,” said Deputy CM Kadiyam Srihari on Friday. As centenary celebrations will be held on April 26, 27 and 28, the Telangana government has already initiated the preparations for the event.

discussions about the celebrations with Osmania University vice chancellor
Professor S Ramachandram and other lecturers. “We are forming various
committees for the successful conduct of centenary celebrations. We will also
invite President Pranab Mukherjee and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the
centenary celebrations,” said Srihari.
Besides inviting PM and President, the Government has also lined up various programmes and events to make OU centenary celebrations a memorable event. “All universities VCs conference will be held during centenary celebrations. More than one crore students have been graduated from OU and settled across globe in good positions. Invitations will be sent to all the old students of OU,” said Srihari.
