OU to celebrate 100th year anniversary from Jan 26

The State government and Osmania University are making elaborate arrangements for the centenary celebrations of the University and accordingly have constituted 30 special committees to ensure smooth conduct of the celebrations.

This includes centenary celebrations committee, reception committee, the organizing committee and so on. The university, as part of the three-day centenary celebrations, will also organize a All India Vice-Chancellors conference on January 27 followed by the Indian International Science Fair on January 28.

Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiyam Srihari in a press release here on Monday said that Union Minister for Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar would be



chief guest for the celebrations.“The three-day celebrations will commence on January 26 and conclude on January 28,” he said, adding that the University authorities were coming up with a book that would feature the best 100 publications from the University right from its inception. This apart, efforts are being made to come up with a book on alumni of the university who have made it big in different fields.

“A special video will also be made on the university to help future generations understand the importance and significance of this university,” he said. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will launch the logo, brochure and posters for the centenary celebrations here next week, Mr. Srihari added.
