Our party is with Harish: KTR

BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao on Monday took strong exception to derogatory remarks made by BRS’ Malkajgiri MLA Mynampally Hanumantha Rao against finance minister T. Harish Rao. Rama Rao made it clear that BRS will stand with Harish on this issue.

Hanumantha Rao slammed Harish Rao and vowed to defeat him, in statements made in the public domain, over his son Mynampally Rohit being denied the Medak constituency ticket.

Taking to social media platform X, Rama Rao posted, "One of our MLAs who was denied a ticket to his family member in an outburst has made some derogatory comments on Minister Harish Rao Garu. I not only strongly condemn the MLA’s behaviour and also want to make it clear that we all stand with Harish Rao.

He has been an integral founding member of the BRS party since its inception and will continue to remain an important pillar of the party as we move

forward."

Rama Rao was responding to comments made by Hanumantha Rao alleging that Harish Rao amassed wealth by indulging in corruption and accusing him of obstructing development in the Medak Assembly constituency.

A video of Hanumantha Rao’s comments against Harish Rao, hours before the release of BRS's first list of candidates for Assembly polls, went viral on social media, causing huge embarrassment to the party leadership.

However, despite the severe remarks against Harish Rao, Hanumantha Rao figured in the list of 115 BRS candidates released by the Chief Minister for upcoming Assembly polls.

When media personnel asked Chandrashekar Rao about the MLA’s outburst, he replied, "We have given a ticket to Mynampally. If he does not want to abide by the party's decision, it's his choice."
