Owaisi asks GHMC to construct multilevel parking lots at Charminar

Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi has asked the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation to construct multilevel parking lots at Charminar bus stand and near the pension office at Khilwat under the Charminar Pedestrianisation Project.

Charminar is a historic monument and everyday many tourists arrive here. Sufficient parking space is urgently needed, he said.Owaisi met GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy and asked that the parking lots be constructed at the earliest.

“In the past during the



Congress tenure, the foundation was laid for parking lots but works did not take off,” Owaisi said, also asking the Municipal Corporation to take up reconstruction of existing Murgi Chowk.The MP later demanded an elevated corridor from Zoo Park to Aramgarh. A flyover should be constructed from Puranapool to City College as well, he said.

“The Old City should also be declared as a flood-free zone by taking up of widening of balance nalas as per the Kirloskar report,” Owaisi said.
