The three-lane uni-directional flyover built at Owaisi Junction is slated for inauguration on December 28. The 1.36 km long and 12 m wide flyover is built with an estimated cost of Rs 63 crore under the State government’s Strategic Road Development Plan (SRDP).
Municipal Administration and Urban Development (MA&UD) Minister KT Rama Rao, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, Mayor G Vijaya Laxmi and other elected representatives are expected to participate in the inauguration. Once this facility is made available, traffic congestions at the two busy spots of Chandrayangutta i.e. Owaisi Hospital Junction and Midhani Junction are expected to
be addressed.
The flyover facilitates traffic coming from Midhani Junction and going towards Owaisi Hospital Junction and ends around 300 metres away from the Owaisi Hospital junction.
Scores of commuters using the busy Owaisi Junction Road will be benefited, said a GHMC engineer monitoring the project. “Besides being useful for locals, the flyover will be of great use to Central government employees working in DRDO, DRDL, ASL,” he said. Meanwhile, under the flyover, saplings were planted and vertical gardens have been developed on its pillars.
