The Oxygen Express with six container tankers filled with 120 tonnes of Liquid Medical Oxygen (LMO) from Kalinganagar in Odisha reached Sanathnagar in Telangana on Sunday. Indian Railways has been operating trains to bring liquid oxygen from Odisha to Telangana to meet the oxygen needs in the State.
Close on the heels of receiving the first Oxygen Express, the second Oxygen Express to Andhra Pradesh loaded with four tankers and filled with 76.39 tonnes of LMO was reached in Guntur on Sunday. The train was loaded from Kanalus in Gujarat.
Continuing this
momentum, the supply of LMO is likely to be further strengthened with the seventh Oxygen Express having already commenced its journey. The train has been loaded with four tankers filled with 55.42 tonnes of LMO in Odisha and is likely to reach Hyderabad on Monday.
With Indian Railways operating these Oxygen Express trains along the green corridors, both the trains have been running with an average speed of around 60 kmph. Adequate precautions are being taken so as to ensure that the cryogenic cargo is safely transported across various States.
