P Ajay Kumar launches Friendly Electronic Services of Transport Department (FEST)

Transport Minister P Ajay Kumar recently launched Friendly Electronic Services of Transport Department (FEST) to provide contactless, convenient and transparent services through online.

The services launched as part of FEST include issue of duplicate learner’s licence, duplicate license, badge, smart card in lieu, surrender of existing driving licence and issue of history sheet of licence.

The Minister said the objective of the initiative was to



avoid public having to come to RTA office except for important services like vehicle inspection, which was mandatory. “Another few services like driving licence, learning licence, permit and registration services will be rolled out in due course after completing testing,” he said.

Sunil Sharma, Principal Secretary (Transport) said that more services were in the offing which could be utilised from home or from nearest cyber cafe.
