The Midhani bus terminal of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC), spread over an area of 1.93 acres, was inaugurated by transport minister P Mahender Reddy on Monday.
He was accompanied by Transport, Roads and Buildings (TR&B) department principal secretary and TSRTC in-charge managing director , Sunil Sharma and executive director of the Greater Hyderabad Zone (GHZ), TSRTC, A Purushottam Naik. The bus terminal was built at a cost of Rs.8.67 crore. It has 9 platforms and houses 9
commercial shops in its complex, said authorities. About 182 buses which will make 1,925 trips will pass through the Midhani Commuter Amenity Centre (CAC) daily.
Speaking at the event, the transport minister said the Telangana RTC is currently ferrying over 95 lakh passengers across the state and 35 lakh in Hyderabad alone in a day. He also pointed out that chief minister KCR has allocated Rs.1,000 crore towards improving infrastructure for passengers.
