The Bill for the formation of new rural and urban panchayats will be introduced in the ensuing budget session, said chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao who reviewed the progress on the draft Bill.
He instructed the finance secretary to make a provision in the budget to give Rs.5 lakh to Rs.30 lakh to gram panchayats
every year. Prepare guidelines on procurement of funds from MGNREGA, finance commission and funds accrued through property tax, he told officials.
The CM also asked the panchayat raj commissioner to study how to get more funds from the Central Finance Commission for the panchayats.
