Panchayat polls to be held in three phases in Telangana

Panchayat Elections in Telangana will be held in three phases on 21st, 25th and 30th of this month. 

State Election Commissioner V Nagi Reddy announced this at a press conference in Hyderabad today. Except for 19 Gram Panchayats, all Gram Panchayats in the state, about 12, 700 will have the elections. 

He said the election code of conduct has come into force with immediate



effect. 

The polling will be held from 7 AM to 1 PM and the counting of votes and election of Sarpanch and Deputy Sarpanch will be held on the same evening. 

Over one crore 49 lakh 52 thousand electors will exercise their franchise during the elections. It may be recalled that the Courts directed the State Government to conduct Panchayat Elections before January 10th.
