The regional passport office, in contrast to a decision taken earlier, will now function on April 14, officials said, adding that those whose appointments were earlier cancelled due to a proposed holiday will now have to keep them up on Friday.
The same has been communicated to applicants through SMSes, officials said.
Previously, the passport seva kendras at
Hyderabad, Begumpet, Ameerpet, Tolichowki, Nizamabad and Karimnagar were scheduled to be shut on April 14 on account of Ambedkar Jayanti.
Dasari Balaiah, of the Hyderabad Regional Passport Office, said, “Looking at the load, which is piling up as many of the applicants are eager for the clearance to travel, this decision was taken.”
