Telangana NRIs thanked Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao for fulfilling his promise and providing them access to the Dharani portal using their respective passports. The NRIs who do not have Aadhaar cards and own properties in the State or planning to purchase one, can now register their property ownership and purchase lands using their passports.
Thanking the Chief Minister for this facility, TRS NRI wing coordinator Mahesh Bigala said NRIs from Telangana living in various parts of the world faced lot of difficulties when they purchased land in the State in the absence of their Aadhaar number. Several NRI groups led by MLC K Kavitha have represented to the Chief Minister on several occasions including TRS Plenary,
Telugu World Congress and the launch of Dharani portal, in this regard. They also represented to TRS working president and Minister KT Rama Rao.
After considering their appeals, the Chief Minister took the initiative and directed the officials to create a provision exclusively for NRIs to purchase lands using their passports rather than Aadhaar number. “By using their passports for land registration, Telangana NRIs living abroad can now peacefully purchase lands and remain confident about safety of their properties upon registering with the Dharani portal,” said Mahesh Bigala. He said the government also gave another option to reschedule the registrations.
