Patnam Mahender Reddy, the BRS MLC who was expecting a party ticket to contest the coming Assembly elections from Tandur constituency but did not get it, is all set to be inducted into the state Cabinet on Thursday.

According to Raj Bhavan officials, Mahender Reddy will be sworn in as a minister on Thursday afternoon by Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan.

This will be Mahender Reddy’s second stint as a minister in Telangana state having served as one in the first BRS



government between 2014 and 2018.

He was elected as an MLA from Tandur in 1994, 1998, 2009, 2014 but lost in the 2018 elections to Congress nominee Rohit Reddy, who has since joined the BRS and has been given the party ticket to contest from the same constituency in the coming Assembly elections.

Mahender Reddy was elected later as an MLC from the Local body authorities constituency and for the second time unanimously in 2022.
