Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan said corruption had increased in Telangana and the state was competing with AP in the number of women going missing. Social justice is possible in Telangana only if a candidate from the Backward Classes becomes Chief Minister.
Addressing a road show at Kukatpally, he said, "The Jana Sena stayed away from the electoral fray in Telangana in deference to the wishes of the people. We had only participated in agitations. But, after repeated requests from the people, we have decided to contest here. We work for
all communities and our endeavour is to take the benefits to all sections of people."
The state had endured loot during the Jala Yagnam scheme of Dr Y.S. Rajashekar Reddy, he said and added that he had hoped that it would not be repeated. But conditions in Telangana were the same now, and the youth were depressed and dejected.
The road show which started at Balanagar junction passed through Bowenpally circle, Old Bowenpally to the Ambedkar circle in Hasmathpet.
