Congratulating new Mayor N Narender and Deputy Mayor Sirajuddin of Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation, who were elected unanimously here, Srihari said Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao gave priority to those who fought for statehood and elected Narender and Sirajuddin for the top posts in the civic body.
It may be mentioned here that the election of Narender and Sirajuddin resembles that of GHMC wherein Bonthu Rammohan and Baba Fasiyuddin were elected Mayor and Deputy Mayor as a dividend given by KCR to their role in statehood movement.

they enjoy the support of the people as the government schemes are reaching
them. The State Government has promised to develop Warangal
city on par with Hyderabad
by spending Rs 300 crore every year, he said. “KCR was evincing keen interest
in developing our city manifold in the days to come”, he stated. He also said
the results in the civic body elections proved that the people are with the
ruling party for fast growth. He also said the new mayor and deputy mayor
should now focus on the major issues like basic amenities, road connectivity and
infrastructural development in Warangal
city. “It is time for the newly elected body to explore all possibilities to
meet the expectations of the people. The State government will provide all
required help to Warangal
city to witness a rapid growth. IT companies and varsities coming to the city
will provide jobs to the local talent”, he added.
