Fuel prices in the city have come down in the wake of the Union government’s move to cut excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 10 per litre, respectively. Accordingly, the petrol price in Hyderabad has come down by Rs 6.29 a litre while diesel prices fell by Rs 12.78 a litre.

On Friday, petrol was being sold at Rs 108.18 per litre, whereas the price of diesel was Rs 94.62 per litre in Hyderabad. Dealers said the prices were not likely to go up right

away.

G Vinay Kumar, president, Telangana State Petrol Dealers Association, said they were expecting the fuel prices to remain the same across the nation for at least a few days. “As the crude oil prices are still very high in the international market, the petrol and diesel prices will again see a daily hike of 10 paise to 20 paise per day,” he said. As of Friday, the international benchmark Brent Crude was trading at $81.36 per barrel.
