A three-day Pharma India Expo 2024 commenced at HITEX Exhibition Centre here on Thursday. A total of 250 stalls were set up at the expo in which innovations of various companies were being exhibited.
Participating in the event, BC Dal national president Dundra Kumara Swamy urged the participants to join hands to make Hyderabad a landmark in the pharma sector.
“Steps are being taken to make Hyderabad the capital of pharma companies in the world. Many pharma industries have been established in Hyderabad in the last 30-40 years. They have saved many lives all over the world. Thousands of people got employment opportunities. It is also the responsibility of the
government to make Hyderabad a haven for investment in the pharma sector,” he said.
“At present, the domestic pharma sector has an annual turnover of $65 billion. It is expected to reach $45 billion by 2047. There are about 300 pharmaceutical companies in the city. Many of these companies are exporting to the US, Europe and other developed countries. To achieve further development in the pharma sector, environment-friendly industries need to be set up,” he added.
SEAR Pharma president Dr. TV Narayan, Indian Pharmaceutical Sciences vice president Dr. Vasudeva Rao and Boston University A1 Scientist Dr. Y Sridhar Reddy among others also participated in the event.
