The Telangana government is going all out to take initiatives to encourage startups, including T-Hub, the second phase of which will be ready by the end of this year, IT minister KT Rama Rao said on Thursday.
Pointing out that there are indications that the Fortune 100 companies will provide only a limited employment opportunities to youth in the coming days, he said only startups can provide more employment opportunities.
“Phase II of T-Hub is being readied with a built-up area of 3.60 lakh sft, which will be probably the biggest innovation centre in the world. In Phase-I, 346 startups are being
planned,” KTR told the Assembly on Thursday.
KTR said the state government is not only encouraging startups but also rural innovations. “The state government has granted Rs.2 crore to a rural innovator Chintakindi Mallesham, who hails from the weaver community, to take his innovations forward. The government will promote any rural innovator irrespective of their field,” he said.
To encourage rural youth to innovate right from the junior college level, a ‘state innovation cell’ has been set up by appointing Red Bus co-founder Phanindra Sama, the minister said.
