Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the much-awaited formal run of Hyderabad Metro Rail on the Nagole-Miyapur corridor by the year end.Sources in the government said Modi has been invited to inaugurate the first run but that the PMO is yet to confirm the date.
According to the sources, the metro rail will chug from this year itself. The plan is to have the first train service launched by the PM in November-end coinciding with the Global Entrepreneurship Summit to be held in Greater Hyderabad. “The works on metro rail at Ameerpet and Oliphanta
bridge are being done on a war footing in order to complete the project before November end,“ the sources said.
There are two other major events to be held in Greater Hyderabad in the next few months. The Indian Science Congress and the World IT Congress. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has to come to inaugurate the global summit in November as well as the other two major events, said the sources, and added that the Telangana government wants metro rail to start operations before these two conferences kick start in the State capital.
