Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar appealed to the public to participate in the election process by exercising their franchise.
During an interaction with presspersons ahead of ‘March of Democracy’, a flag march cum area familiarisation exercise taken up by the police in the sensitive areas of the old city on Sunday afternoon, he said all efforts were being made to ensure people exercise their rights in a peaceful atmosphere.
Personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force, Rapid Action Force, Railway Protection Force and Hyderabad police units, including Commissioner’s Task Force and City Armed Reserve, participated in the march. Anjani Kumar said elections should be held as a festival, and people should come out and choose the political party of
their choice.
“We are here to see that there is happiness around and people come and exercise their vote on the polling day. All necessary arrangements are being done to ensure foolproof voting,” he said.
The police marched through the sensitive areas of Talab Katta, Hari Bowli, Chacha Garage, Bibi Bazaar, Etebar Chowk, Mandi Mir Alam before ending up at the Darulshifa playgrounds. The march covered the sensitive areas of Yakutpura and Charminar Assembly constituency where a tough electoral battle is expected between various political parties.
The police in Cyberabad and Rachakonda too are undertaking area sensitisation march in their respective jurisdictions to instil confidence in the public.
