Minister for IT and Industries K T Rama Rao on Wednesday said the poll outcome on December 11 would be a slap on the face of the Congress and the Prajakutami.

Addressing a news conference here, he said the TRS had already completed its crucial first phase of election campaign and was half way through the second phase. “There has been an overwhelming response to the TRS campaign in erstwhile Karimnagar district. The party which had won 12 of the 13 seats will bag all the 13 seats this time to make it a clean sweep,” he said.

Exuding confidence that party nominee Dr Sanjay would romp home with an overwhelming majority in Jagtiyal, he said the TRS juggernaut would start this time from Jagtiyal constituency.

He questioned as to why Congress leader and former Minister Jeevan Reddy, who always indulges in fault-finding in development process here and there, could not ensure development of the district

during his party’s rule. The TRS government, he said, could provide more funds to the district compared to what consecutive governments did during 60 years of rule. “Did Jagtiyal municipality ever get Rs 60 crore in one go for its development at any point of time when Jeevan Reddy was the Minister?” he asked.

Stating that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had been giving funds impartially to all the constituencies including those held by Congress, he said the government had taken up construction of 4,000 double bedroom houses at Nukapalli with an outay of Rs 220 crore.
Neither Jeevan Reddy nor TDP leader L Ramana could make Jagtiyal the district headquarters during their tenure as Ministers, he pointed out and advised Jeevan Reddy to give up his campaign against development of the district witnessed during the TRS rule for four years as people were highly critical of his allegations.
