District Election Officer and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Dana Kishore on Wednesday said that poll slips and voter ID cards will be issued door-to-door from November 26.

At a meeting with Booth Level Officers (BLOs) here on Wednesday, Kishore said that a total of 3,800 BLOs will issue voter slips and instructed the supervisors to hold a special meeting with booth level agents in their jurisdiction on November 25 and present the details of voter slips and voter ID cards.

He said that BLOs who are on election duty should cast their votes through postal ballot.

Kishore said that a help desk for voters

will be set up at every polling centre and added that only BLOs should give instructions to voters and not allow agents of political parties at the desk.

For this election, colony welfare associations have agreed to volunteer as helpers and BLOs need to collect the names of its representatives who are not associated with political parties from the Returning Officer, he said.

He said that CCTV cameras have been installed at 480 problematic locations and the second round of randomisation will be held on November 22. To increase the polling per cent, around 30 NGOs are conducting special awareness programmes, he added.
