A five-member team from India has successfully scaled Mount Elbrus, the highest peak in Europe. The team comprises four members from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, including Malavath Poorna (18), who holds the world record for being the yo ungest girl to scale Mount Everest.
The Indian team also created a record by planting a 50-ft long Indian Tricolour on top of Mount Elbrus. The highest peak in Europe is situated
between the Black Sea and Caspian Sea on Russian territory , 20km from the Georgian border.
Apart from Poorna, the other team members are U Raghunath Reddy (28), a native of Tadepalli in Guntur district, Satya Rao (20) a native of Bangarupalem village in Visakhapatnam district, Sri Vidya (18) from Telangana and Varsha Rahul (28) from Pune.The team began their expedition on July 21 from Hyderabad.
