Four days after the police found that there were three persons, not two, in the Porsche Cayenne car that rammed two pedestrians, killing them on the spot at Banjara Hills Road No. 2 last week, the police are yet to track him down.

The third person, K Venkatesh, was absconding ever since the accident. “So far we have not arrested Venkatesh. He is absconding,” said an official of Banjara Hills police station.

The police, after getting the custody of the prime suspect B Rohit Goud, who was behind the steering wheel and his friend V Sai Soman Reddy, had re-constructed the scene. It was during this that the presence of Venkatesh came to light.

Officials said the two were being questioned with substantial evidence, including CCTV footage, when they told the police

they had attended the birthday party of a friend at a pub in Durgam Cheruvu, after which they went to two more pubs.

The trio then left the place in the car driven by Goud with Sai Soman sitting next to him and Venkatesh in the back seat towards KBR Park, when the accident happened. They then went to a friend’s apartment and parked the car in the basement, where they decided to conceal the fact that Venkatesh was also with them in the vehicle since his marriage was scheduled to take place on December 12.

It is not known whether the marriage took place since Venkatesh was absconding. Police are yet to make this clear and are maintaining that they are yet to know his whereabouts.

The vehicle, meanwhile is being referred to the Regional Transport Authority for examination.
