The peak electricity demand in Telangana crossed 16,000 MW milestone in the State on Wednesday. In the wake of unprecedented rise in power demand, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka reviewed the supply situation with the Chairman and Managing Directors (CMDs) of power utilities in the State.
The peak electricity demand of 16058 MW registered at 7.55 am on Wednesday
surpassed the demand of 15998 MW recorded on February 10. The highest electricity demand recorded on March 8 last year was 15623 MW. This was surpassed by power companies on February 5 this year. Power companies are facing the huge electricity demand this year without any problems. Bhatti made it clear that the State government was ready to supply electricity as per the demand, no matter how much it increases.
