Gearing up for the ensuing 'Praja Palana', the GHMC has cancelled holidays and leaves of officials from December 28 to January 6 besides appointing 30 special officers, one for each circle, to monitor the programme.
'Praja Palana' will be held across 600 locations where officials will collect application forms pertaining to various government schemes, including the Maha Lakshmi scheme for LPG cylinders at Rs 500. The forms will be distributed from 8 am to 6 pm.
GHMC commissioner Ronald Rose and MA&UD principal secretary Dana Kishore held a review meeting with senior officials of the corporation
here on Monday.
Rose instructed officials to ensure that all those eligible for the schemes are identified.
At a separate review meeting to discuss 'Praja Palana', Dana Kishore interacted with municipal commissioners (MCs) of urban local bodies (ULBs) falling within the ORR jurisdiction while those from outside ORR participated virtually.
The MCs were instructed to constitute teams and complete the arrangements for ward sabhas. He urged MCs to ensure that the dates of ward meetings are publicised on a massive scale.
