Praja Vani, the public grievances redressal system, is set to be relaunched at Praja Bhavan in Begumpet starting Friday, after a hiatus of nearly two months. It was suspended in March due to the enforcement of the model code of conduct for the Lok Sabha elections. Following the assumption of office by the newly formed Congress government on December 7, 2023, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy initiated Praja Vani and opened the doors of Pragathi Bhavan in Begumpet to the public. This building, formerly serving as the official residence cum camp office of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, underwent changes under Revanth's leadership. The iron grills and fencing outside the building were removed, and it was renamed as Mahatma Jyoti Rao Phule Praja Bhavan.
Praja Vani sessions were conducted twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays from 10 am to 1 pm, and garnered a significant response from people across the state. Thousands of individuals visited Praja Bhavan to meet officials and lodge their grievances. With the aim of addressing the issues
raised by the people during Praja Vani sessions, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has assigned the task of supervising the program to TG Planning Board vice-chairman G. Chinna Reddy. The government has already processed 3,96,224 out of the 4,90,825 applications received during Praja Vani sessions until February 26.
Chinna Reddy urged the public to take advantage of the opportunity and resolve their grievances by submitting applications at Praja Bhavan starting Friday. In a related development, Chinna Reddy, a member of the three-member committee constituted by the state government to address issues concerning state government employees and teachers, held a meeting on Thursday with representatives from the Telangana Gazetted Officers' (TGOs) Association and the Telangana Non-Gazetted Officers Association (TNGOs), along with committee member Prof Kodandaram in Nampally. During the meeting, the TGOs and TNGOs highlighted their longstanding issues to the committee and sought prompt resolution.
