President Droupadi Murmu will arrive in the city for her annual southern sojourn on Monday, which will also mark her first visit to the state since the Congress government took charge.

Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan and Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, along with Cabinet ministers, will receive the President at the Hakimpet Air Force Station.

The Rashtrapati Nilayam at Bolaram, where the President will stay, is also geared to receive her, with city police heightening security arrangements for Murmu’s visit till December 23. Visitors to the Nilayam were banned from December 11 and will continue till December 25.

Around 1,500 police personnel will be deployed at Rashtrapati Nilayam, in addition to personnel from Central forces. The police said all arrangements are being made as per the Blue Book, which specifies the provisions for the same. Advance security liaison was already completed and coordination meetings were held with



other departments to ensure foolproof security, officials said.

The traffic wing is also working to ensure hassle-free movement during the President’s visit by imposing restrictions on a need-to basis, officials said.

According to a Rashtrapati Nilayam communiqué, President Droupadi Murmu will attend a host of functions during her southern sojourn starting Monday.

Dec. 19: Centenary celebrations of Hyderabad Public School Society.

Dec. 20: Visit to handloom and spinning unit, and theme pavilion of the textiles ministry at Pochampally, along with interaction with weavers.

Golden jubilee celebrations of MNR Educational Trust in Secunderabad.

Dec. 21: Inaugurate various projects at Rashtrapati Nilayam.

Dec. 22: At-home reception.
