President Ramnath Kovind will arrive here on December 20 for his Southern sojourn at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bolarum. Preparations are under way to make the winter retreat of the President a memorable one.
Chief Secretary Dr SK Joshi reviewed the preparations with officials concerned at the BRKR Bhavan on Monday. He called upon the officers from different departments to work in tandem and coordination. He directed the officers to prepare an action plan and implement it as the President will arrive at Hakimpet Air Force Station on December 20. He wanted preparations to be made for the reception of the President at the Air Force Station.
Briefing the officials, the Chief Secretary said all issues related to the President’s visit including ‘bandobast’, traffic, power supply, road repairs, cleanliness, water supply, and fire safety must be worked out ahead of the visit.
He said that CCTV, medical teams, telephone, internet
connectivity, periodicals etc must be ready at the President’s house. He directed the police officials to submit a list of police staff that would be drafted for the President’s duty and also the list of in-charges at the police control room.
Giving details, Joshi said the President would stay at Rashtrapati Nilayam from December 20 to 22 and would leave for Thiruvananthapuram on December 23. He would return to Hyderabad on December 26 evening. There would be an “At Home” at Rashtrapati Nilayam on December 27 and he would return to New Delhi on December 28.
Ajay Mishra, Special Chief Secretary (Energy Department); Adhar Sinha, Special Chief Secretary (GAD); Santhi Kumari, Special Chief Secretary (Health); Somesh Kumar, Special chief Secretary (Revenue); Mahender Reddy, Director General of Police; Ravi Gupta, Chief Secretary (Home) and several other officers including those from Armed Forces were present at the meeting.
