Principal booked for triple talaq

A school principal was booked by Banjara Hills police under the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019, for uttering talaq thrice in his bid to divorce his wife. It is the first such case registered in city.

Accused Muzamil Shareef was married to Sumaiya Banu in 2010.

Two days ago, Sumaiya submitted a WhatsApp chat to cops in which Muzamil pronounced talaq thrice.
