Prisons and Correctional Services Department is all set to start the operation of its 15th petrol bunk on Bangalore by-pass road near Sangareddy new jail.
The petrol bunk, which would be operated in association with IOCL (Indian Oil Corporation Limited), will immediately provide employment to as many as eight inmates of the Sangareddy prison. The construction work of the petrol bunk is nearing completion at Khajipur village of Kandi mandal
and would be ready to operate within 10 days. The Prisons Department is also planning to operate a ‘My Nation’ outlet on the premises of the petrol bunk.
Superintendent of Sangareddy Jail, Santosh Kumar Rai said that the Director General of Prisons, VK Singh will fix a date to inaugurate the bunk. He added that Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and DG VK Singh are expected to inaugurate it.
