Congress leader and Karnataka’s IT minister Priyank Kharge on Tuesday exuded confidence that Congress will repeat the Karnataka elections results in Telangana and form government with a clear majority.
He rubbished criticism of BRS leaders that the Congress had failed to deliver on the Five Guarantees.
Speaking to media persons in Hyderabad, Kharge said that the Congress would implement the Six Guarantees in Telangana within 100 days of coming to power.
Alleging huge corruption in Telangana under the BRS regime, he said, "When you read the CAG report and reports about various schemes, it is very clear that the BRS is not Bharat Rashtra Samithi but it is ‘Bhrastachar Rashtra Samithi’."
"When it was TRS (Telangana Rashtra Samithi) their corruption was limited to Telangana. When the liquor scam (in Delhi) happened they knew that they could do this kind of corruption everywhere and so they changed
to Bharat Rashtra Samithi, which is actually ‘Bhrastachar Rashtra Samithi’."
Responding to allegations of BRS leaders that the Congress would not be able to fulfill its guarantees in Telangana, he said, "There is no dearth of funds. The state is facing a fund crunch as BRS leaders looted the exchequer. We will check this and there will be enough funds to implement six guarantees."
He said if Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao or any of the BRS leaders had any doubts about the implementation of the Five Guarantees, the Congress would arrange a bus for them to travel to Karnataka and see for themselves.
Asked about the I-T raids on Congress leaders in Telangana, he termed them as politically motivated. "Look at the timing. This is the standard operating procedure (SOP) of the BJP to scare the Opposition. The BJP works at the behest of BRS here," Kharge alleged.
