Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar called for a swift resolution of issues of farmers and said it is our utmost duty to keep both farmers and soldiers happy, honour them, and resolve their problems.
Speaking at the Natural and Organic Farmers’ summit-2024 organised by ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Medak district in Telangana yesterday, the Vice President said that problems should be resolved quickly as the farmers are the soul of the country.
Stating that not enough attention has been paid to agriculture and agricultural development, he called for audit by research institutions
like ICAR and the best way to audit an institution is through self-audit. He urged the government and scientists in research institutions to create systems for the welfare of farmers.
Expressing concern over the exclusion of the farming community from value addition and marketing of agricultural produce, Mr. Dhankhar said that farmers and their families need to pay attention to how they can contribute to a vast economy like India. He also interacted with farmers who have contributed to organic farming. Governor Jishnu Dev Varma was also present.
